Because terminal posts for this fence type are hollow, the posts have openings with edges that pose risks to both the integrity of the fence and the safety of people interacting with it. The edges can become sharp, risking accidental cuts, especially to children climbing the fence. Wide openings also allow rain, moisture, detritus, etc. to get wedged inside the posts, thereby compromising their integrity.
The 2-1/2" Black Aluminum Terminal Cap is designed to cover the openings of end, corner, and gate posts. Easy to install: simply press over the opening until the cap's in place. You can use a rubber mallet to gently hammer the cap into place if it's not fitting easily. The cap is made of lightweight aluminum and is rust resistant. It is painted black to fit the aesthetic of black vinyl chain link fencing.
